How To Fix Default
.RAR File Opener
Today im gonna show you how to change the default program that a .rar file opens with. Because have you ever accidently changed it so than every time you open a .rar file it opens with windows explorer? Well if you have, this is the tutorial for you! See windows explorer isnt meant to open .rar folders its only meant to open regular foler and .zip folders. So when you change the .rar folder to open with windows explorer it multplies sooooo rapidly that it can crash your computer good thing my computer has 6gb ram and quad i7's or else my computer may have turned off during the video. INSTRUCTION: 1. Go to start 2. Type in Run 3. Open Run 4. Type in and search 'regedit' (without the apostrephes) 5. Click yes if it ask you to 6. Goto -HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT- 7. Find and goto -Application- 8. Find and goto -explorer.exe- 9. You should see a file in there called -OpenWithDefault- or something like that. You need to delete it. 10. Go back to your .rar folder and right click open with. 11. Click on Choose Default Program to open with. 12. Find your archiving program (example: WinRar, Winzip, 7zip) and choose that to open with default. 13. Give yourself a pat on the back and click the subscribe button near the top of this video
